America Revives Military Draft After Half a Century

For the first time since 1970, young people in the United States will be required to register for the military
To increase the workforce in the U.S. military, from December 2026, young people across the country will be automatically registered for military service.
By the end of 2026, all American youth of specified age and qualifications will be included in this process.
It is notable that such a measure in the United States was last taken in the 1970s during the Vietnam War. After several decades, this decision has sparked widespread discussion.
